Overview
The Orbis platform aims to establish a platform utilizing underlying development framework for both consumers and commercial developments by using Bluetooth® mesh networking on a pre-existing infrastructure and network for developers to deploy onto.
Features
Every mesh node is scalable and equivalent to the others, which decentralizes the network and adds the possibility of self-formation. After an initial setup, the device can be located wherever it is needed; it can act as an endpoint, a range extender or a gateway to an external network. A mesh network can rearrange itself using a self-healing mechanism, to support cases in which some nodes have changed their position or have been turned off.
Mesh deployment allows for data transmissions between two devices that are not in range of each other. Devices can be connected in a row, forming a chain of nodes.
It is possible to offload the legacy AP devices by enabling a direct data transfer between the devices using smart mesh deployment.
A mesh network can consist of multiple relays that connect with each other and are able to direct traffic between devices.
Mesh networking enables Disaster Recovery preventing accidental data loss.
